Classes & Registration
Class Levels – The Basics!
Pre-K 3s & 4s: Ages 3-4 and fully potty trained
Pre-K 5s & Kindergarten Ballet: Age 5 or actively enrolled in or having just completed Kindergarten
Levels I-IV: Assigned by grade in school or grade just completed
Levels V-VIII: Requires audition for placement at the sole direction of the Instructors/Directors. Please call 225-767-5814 to schedule a placement class.
Pointe (Level V-VIII): Placement into a pointe class is strictly at the discretion of the instructors and directors and is only considered at or above level V. At this time, it will be determined if the dancer has achieved the appropriate strength, technique, and dedication to endure the demands of properly and safely dancing on pointe. When promoted to a pointe class, the dancer must take a minimum of 3 ballet technique classes each week in addition to the pointe class. The age of a dancer or experience dancing en pointe at a previous studio does not guarantee placement in a pointe class at The Dancers’ Workshop. To ensure the safety of the dancers, each student is assessed thoroughly before placement en pointe is considered.
High School students with limited dance training: Please consider taking one of the adult class offerings before being placed in a leveled class with trained dancers. The adult class teacher can advise you on future placement.
Adult Program: Class levels range from beginning to intermediate ballet, and other fun classes including modern, tap, and yoga

Tuition & Payments
Click the class levels above for tuition rates. Tuition is due on the 1st of each month and may be paid online through Dance Studio Pro or in person by cash, check, or credit card. Card payments incur a 3.5% processing fee charged by Dance Studio Pro.
A $20 late fee applies to payments not received by the 20th calendar day of the month, including weekends and holidays. The date payment or check is received in the office—not the date written on the check—determines timeliness. To avoid late fees, use the online portal, deliver payments promptly, or mail them to The Dancers’ Workshop, 10745 Linkwood Ct., Baton Rouge, LA 70810.
A $35 NSF fee applies to returned payments. Statements are mailed only for overdue accounts. Each financially responsible party is responsible for paying tuition on time.
Withdrawal Policy
Withdrawals must be submitted officially in writing. Otherwise, students remain actively enrolled and will continue to be billed.
Financial Responsibility
A signed, current Statement of Financial Responsibilities must be on file through the Dance Studio Pro Portal.
Annual Re-Registration
Continuing students must re-register each year by paying the annual registration fee and updating class selections and personal information in the portal.
Uniforms
Most youth styles can be ordered directly through Eurotard Dancewear and The Dancers’ Workshop will receive cash back from this order. Your purchase will also support our local Baton Rouge dance supplier, Toptoe! Orders can be shipped directly to you or may be picked up at Toptoe. Explore the class levels above for more information about your dancer’s uniform!

Informance
At The Dancers’ Workshop, we focus on using class time and tuition to help students grow as dancers rather than preparing for a large, costly recital. As dancers get older, opportunities to perform are available through BRBT’s Youth Ballet and BRBT performances.
Instead, we hold an annual Informance in May, where students ages 3 through Level VI can show their families what they’ve learned and how they’ve progressed. Held onstage at Baton Rouge Magnet High School, the Informance is informal, with students wearing their regular class attire rather than costumes.
All students are required to participate. There is a $125 fee per dancer to help cover event costs, but admission is free, and no tickets, portraits, or ads are involved.
